CANADIANA
This afternoon I got to play some outdoor shinny on a frozen lake. Pond hockey is such a classic Canadian winter scene. The weather was perfect- no biting wind or unbearable temperatures. The mercury was just below zero. And the lake was a smooth sheet of glass!
What a beautiful sound to hear the blades of skates cutting into the ice, or the crisp connecting of a tape-to-tape pass. We went at it for a good two hours, if not more. I think I'll feel it in my joints tomorrow morning (sadly, this was my first time out this year), but it was definitely worth it. What a glorious way to spend the afternoon of a day of rest, and to be able to delight in the sheer beauty of God's winter creation. My only regret is not having my own stick. Next time I will have a right-handed shooting stick so that I can actually play decently.

I love pond hockey...I'm no good though and I play in figure skates, but fun is fun!
you're very...poetic. Ummm because of the use of metaphors and smilies in your post. Sounded like a beautiful day:)
